Product description
The SABLO serving platter in Cloud presents food on a cleanly designed surface measuring 30 x 18 cm. Made of stoneware, it combines soft gray and beige tones with a lightly speckled look. The partially applied glaze creates a subtle contrast and highlights the interplay of different surfaces.
Whether for breakfast, afternoon coffee or small dishes, the platter provides space for arranging and serving a variety of foods. Thanks to its understated coloring, it keeps the arrangement in focus and blends harmoniously into a range of table settings. As a serving platter, it is equally suitable for pastries, fruit or savory snacks. After use, it can be cleaned in the dishwasher. It is also microwave-safe.
Frederike Martens’ design is characterized by the combination of reduced forms, natural colors and varied surface effects. The serving platter is part of the SABLO series.

About
Trained as an industrial designer with a particular emphasis on glass and ceramics at the Design School in Halle, Germany, Frederike Martens (born 1987) has a rare talent for pure and strikingly simple shapes, and a preference for colours that will stand the test of time. With her impeccable sense of balance and proportion, Frederike work displays a special sensitivity to how materials work, both alone and together. However, for the young designer the practical usability of any given item is equally important. The Sablo tableware line, comprising 18 distinct items, was her first design project for blomus – and has now been followed up by the Ceola vase.

Care Instruction:
Our SABLO series is made of high-quality stoneware, with different colors that can be beautifully combined with one another.
Stoneware is made from clay, quartz, or minerals such as calcite and belongs to the group of ceramic products. Typical items made from stoneware include plates, bowls, planters, and dishes, which are shaped through a casting process and fired at very high temperatures ranging from about 970 to 1320 degrees Celsius. Thanks to this intense firing process, stoneware is more durable than regular clay and less translucent than porcelain. The final colors are strongly influenced by the firing temperature and duration, giving each piece its own individual structure and unique shading.
Since stoneware is not naturally waterproof, it is usually glazed. This makes it stable, durable, and perfectly suitable for everyday use – as is the case with our SABLO products. However, slight cutlery marks may appear on stoneware items over time. This is not a defect but a completely natural process, as the glaze is fired at a lower temperature than the ceramic body underneath.
Our SABLO tableware is dishwasher safe and can also be used in the microwave.
