Product description
The SABLO bowl in Savannah combines a softly rounded shape with an expressive ceramic surface. Shades of gray and beige define its calm appearance, while the subtle speckling and partially applied glaze create understated visual and tactile contrasts. With a diameter of 13 cm, the bowl is ideal for arranging and serving small dishes, snacks, or side dishes.
Frederike Martens’ design is defined by the interplay of different surfaces: glazed sections meet deliberately unglazed areas, giving the bowl its distinctive character. Subtle variations in color, texture, and shading make each piece visually unique. The ceramic bowl is dishwasher- and microwave-safe, making it easy to use in everyday life. As part of the SABLO series, its understated color palette and distinctive surface design complement the collection’s signature aesthetic.

About
Trained as an industrial designer with a particular emphasis on glass and ceramics at the Design School in Halle, Germany, Frederike Martens (born 1987) has a rare talent for pure and strikingly simple shapes, and a preference for colours that will stand the test of time. With her impeccable sense of balance and proportion, Frederike work displays a special sensitivity to how materials work, both alone and together. However, for the young designer the practical usability of any given item is equally important. The Sablo tableware line, comprising 18 distinct items, was her first design project for blomus – and has now been followed up by the Ceola vase.

Care Instruction:
Our SABLO series is made of high-quality stoneware, with different colors that can be beautifully combined with one another.
Stoneware is made from clay, quartz, or minerals such as calcite and belongs to the group of ceramic products. Typical items made from stoneware include plates, bowls, planters, and dishes, which are shaped through a casting process and fired at very high temperatures ranging from about 970 to 1320 degrees Celsius. Thanks to this intense firing process, stoneware is more durable than regular clay and less translucent than porcelain. The final colors are strongly influenced by the firing temperature and duration, giving each piece its own individual structure and unique shading.
Since stoneware is not naturally waterproof, it is usually glazed. This makes it stable, durable, and perfectly suitable for everyday use – as is the case with our SABLO products. However, slight cutlery marks may appear on stoneware items over time. This is not a defect but a completely natural process, as the glaze is fired at a lower temperature than the ceramic body underneath.
Our SABLO tableware is dishwasher safe and can also be used in the microwave.
